About Your Instructor Melissa Lingo:
Melissa Lingo’s classes vary in intensity but the most important thing to her is that everyone feels welcomed and confident during the practice. She emphasizes that yoga is for everyone, and just because you can’t touch your toes or stand on your head doesn’t mean you can’t get the full physical and emotional benefits from the practice. Every body is different, therefore it’s important to let go of comparisons or expectations for what we should look like when practicing and focus instead on how we feel. She designs her classes with an equal desire to share physical postures that build strength and flexibility with yogic philosophy and science to deepen the understanding of what we’re doing on the mat.
KARMA YOGA WEDNESDAYS 5.30PM
By Donation
Each month we will be fundraising for a new NGO, with all yoga donations going to charity. We will also donate 20% of all meals sold every Wednesday evening. This month we are donating proceeds to Writing Through.
About Writing Through:
Writing Through is an organisation focusing on self esteem, conceptual thought and language fluency through Creative Writing. We deliver workshops to our partner NGOs around Cambodia and Singapore.
Writing Through aims to help improve the education and self-esteem of today’s Cambodian students. In addition, it works to augment the limited professional development available to Cambodia’s teachers by giving them new skills and showing them new methods.
Why We Chose Writing Through:
Creativity underpins our philosophy at Baby Elephant and we think it’s really positive that initiatives to connect Cambodians with creativity get the funding and support they need.
