Gin Cocktail Event | Baby Elephant Boutique Hotel

Despite gin fever unabashedly sweeping the region, Siem Reap has yet to fully catch on. Baby Elephant Boutique Hotel is now raising the bar by hosting the tourist town’s first regular gin-tasting popups. For its  second instalment, the Baby Elephant Gin Appreciation Society welcomes Annemarie, Cambodia’s premier mixologist, to showcase a selection of her work in the hotel’s lush tropical garden environment.

Annemarie is renowned for her international accolades as a bar manager and owner, educator, brand ambassador, event coordinator, bar consultant, and competition judge, all the way from the United States to Southeast Asia. She is one of a new breed of young international entrepreneurs sweeping into Cambodia, also among them mural artist Tamara Venn (of east London fashion notoriety, and whose work appears at the hotel), and Baby Elephant Boutique Hotel partners Ilana Tulloch and Adam Scott, whose previous exploits include Slam Dunk Sandwich Co., a vegan sandwich and burger bar in Jakarta, Indonesia.  Baby Elephant Boutique Hotel has similarly shot onto the hospitality scene in Siem Reap, maintaining a top-five position in the town’s TripAdvisor rankings, largely thanks to a relentless commitment to excellent food, drinks and guest service.

“Despite being a relative newcomer to the hotel scene in Siem Reap, we continue to provide some of the town’s very best food and service – both Cambodian and international,” says Baby Elephant Boutique Hotel’s managing partner and marketing director Ilana Tulloch.

“To attract someone of Annemarie’s calibre is testament to the brand we have been working hard to build, and we’are thrilled to be able to join our guests and community in welcoming her,” Ilana adds.

The Gin Appreciation Society meets at 7pm sharp, allowing attendees to embark on this journey of the palate together, sharing experiences as they explore. A a special menu will be on offer, including a range of gin cocktails and Khmer and international finger foods. The hotel’s regular cocktail and wine list will also be available.

Numbers for the event are strictly limited, and reservations (by e-mail to bookings@babyelephant.asia) are essential.
